Responsibilities
Lead and manage merchandising and buying activities for assigned product categories, covering assortment planning, sourcing, pricing, and lifecycle management.
Conduct market, trend, and competitor analysis to identify commercial opportunities that drive sales growth, margin improvement, and category competitiveness.
Work closely with Category, Commercial, and Cross-functional teams to review assortments, identify gaps, and optimize product mix aligned with customer needs and business strategy.
Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers and manufacturers, both local and international, ensuring capability in cost competitiveness, quality, capacity, and lead time.
Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers on pricing, MOQs, payment terms, rebates, and commercial conditions to achieve target margin and profitability.
Own costing, pricing strategy, and margin management, ensuring competitive retail pricing while meeting financial targets.
Manage buying forecasts, order planning, and replenishment alignment in collaboration with Supply Chain and Planning teams to ensure optimal stock availability and inventory efficiency.
Coordinate with QA and Regulatory teams to ensure products comply with relevant quality standards, safety requirements, and local regulations.
Monitor sales performance, stock movement, margin, and sell-through, and initiate corrective actions on assortment, pricing, or sourcing when required.
Support new product introduction and range changes, ensuring timely execution and alignment with commercial objectives.
Conduct supplier visits and factory assessments as required to support sourcing decisions and long-term supplier partnerships.
Perform additional tasks and strategic initiatives as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required or related work.
7 - 10+ experience with merchandising and supplier relationships.
Result orientation, Good planning and execution.
Teamwork & collaboration cross functionally.
Strong analytical skills and problemsolving.
Computer skills (MS office, advanced excel, Word).
Strong buying and merchandising expertise with hands-on experience in sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management.
Solid understanding of cost structure, pricing, margin optimization, and commercial trade-offs.
Experience in assortment planning, SKU rationalization, and category performance management.
Data-driven mindset with ability to analyze sales, margin, stock, and supplier performance.
Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple categories in a dynamic retail or wholesale environment.
